Diamonds of Amazonia

Empower your teams to develop an agile mindset, leadership skills, and organisational values through Diamonds of Amazonia Online Business Simulation.

2 - 3 hours

Teams go on an expedition through the Amazon with only one goal: mine as many diamonds as they can from the Diamond Valley. Along the journey, however, they will have to pass through the Amazonia Rainforest and all of its dangerous and unpredictable obstacles like hash weather conditions and anaconda attacks. The teams start at the base camp with limited resources and have 22 days (of 2 minutes) to complete their expedition. They will have to meticulously plan their resources, discuss and strategise their journey. During the excursion they will have to make quick decisions, solve problems and move ahead because time is limited and the clock is ticking fast. Careful though, if they lose sight of the bigger picture - mine as many diamonds as possible - or don't manage to come back in time, they will be doomed for failure. The team that comes back on time with the most diamonds and the minimum use of resources will win the simulation, so it's essential to take calculated risks and to plan and execute precisely.

Learning Outcomes

This fast-paced business simulation brings to life several metaphors directly related to critical, real-life issues and objectives. Next to planning and execution, participants learn to strategise, maximise and optimise business resources. The dynamics of this experiential learning game ignite the development of an agile mindset. Maximising their mindset, teams, leaders and managers learn to focus on creativity instead of constraints. They learn to enhance productivity and not activity, to keep an eye on the goals instead of obstacles and to focus on winning big rather than losing small. In this virtual team building activity, teams learn how to harness their problem solving skills and develop leadership and management skills.
