Description

Chain Reaction Table Top invites teams to design and build simple machines on a game board, using idea cards for inspiration. Groups link their sections together, testing and tweaking until every part connects perfectly. The finale sees the complete contraption cascade like a Rube Goldberg machine, triggering one big satisfying result.

Learning Outcomes

This energetic activity demonstrates the power of shared vision and teamwork. To succeed, groups must combine creative ideas, communicate clearly, and manage resources wisely. By connecting their machines with other teams’ sections, participants practise collaboration beyond their immediate group, seeing how individual efforts contribute to a bigger goal. Problem-solving and adaptability are key as plans evolve through testing and feedback. The process encourages attention to detail, persistence, and celebrating small wins along the way. Watching the final chain reaction unfold reinforces the value of collective effort and leaves everyone with a memorable sense of achievement, fun, and what’s possible when teams truly work together.
