Remote teams work cohesively to guide an expedition to summit Mount Everest.
Peak Performance online is a remote team building activity where teams lead their guides up Mount Everest to the summit and return safely to basecamp over a 20-day expedition. Participants join the activity via video conferencing and work in teams in break out rooms. Each team member is responsible for a specific role and the related knowledge. They decide on how they will move each day and enter it into the game tablet. There are many variables to consider including changing weather conditions and terrain.Teams must make collaborative decisions based on elements such as oxygen requirements, acclimatisation, pitching tents and the like. Ultimately, the team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
Peak Performance is an emotionally gripping experiential learning tool which has been designed to change people’s understanding of, attitude towards and soft skills for working collaboratively as a remote team. Participants learn about working remotely as a team through the use of an engaging theme and relevant links to their business environment. Following the experience, participants use reflective observation to identify what occurred during the exercise, what decisions they made and the consequences of these decisions. Participants are able to make effective behavioural changes by understanding and accepting the implications of their choices.
This activity has been designed for people who work remotely. Your team may be working from home, in different regional office locations or in different countries! Love the theme but want a face to face or hybrid solution? Get in touch to find out how we can customise this experience for your team.
Thank you Team Building Asia for a hosting a fantastic virtual team building event for our H&M Greater China Management Meeting this October. With over 60 participants joining from over 20 of our offices within Hong Kong, China and Taiwan we were looking for an activity to break through the geographical boundaries and unite us through teamwork, and Peak Performance did just that! Our fantastic host David was clear and charismatic when outlining the details of the expedition and very effective at drawing links between the activity and the internal themes and messages of our meeting. Breaking into smaller mixed specialism groups allowed us to practice vulnerability and communication to arrive at a position of psychological safety where we could try, fail, learn and eventually win together! So good that we actually continued to use the smaller breakout rooms for the second day of our meeting! Thank you Team Building Asia for delivering above expectations and opening our eyes to the benefits of virtual team building events.
