Description

Rafting Challenge transforms a meeting room into an adventurous expedition base with full-sized rafts, paddles, and immersive video backdrops. Teams plan and execute a 15-day simulated river journey, managing resources, overcoming challenges, and making real-time decisions to ensure client safety and satisfaction. Success depends on balancing risk, rewards, and profit.

Learning Outcomes

Rafting Challenge delivers powerful insights into balancing planning with action. Teams learn the importance of managing information overload, budgeting wisely, and making decisions under pressure. The activity highlights the need for clear roles, communication, and data-driven decision-making to achieve goals while delighting ‘clients’. By weighing risk against potential reward, participants sharpen strategic thinking and risk management skills. They discover how poor planning and haste can jeopardise success and see the tangible benefits of thoughtful preparation. The game reinforces the value of teamwork, agility, and collective responsibility, inspiring teams to transfer these lessons to the workplace for improved project management and collaboration.
