Bridging The Divide

Bridging the Divide challenges teams to design, build, and connect bridge sections that meet strict customer specs. Limited resources and tight deadlines demand clear communication and creative thinking. As each section links into one giant structure, teams see firsthand how collaboration and smart project management lead to big-picture success.

  • Duration: 3 Hours
Description

Teams design and build bridge sections that meet client requirements while tackling resource limits and communication barriers. Bridges are branded and decorated for extra creativity, with awards for the best designs. In the exciting finale, all sections join to form one huge bridge, tested by driving a remote-controlled vehicle across it.

Learning Outcomes

Bridging the Divide brings teamwork to life by making every team both a supplier and a customer. Participants must manage time, resources, and stakeholder expectations while balancing creativity and precision. The activity highlights the domino effect of communication and how small actions impact the bigger goal. Clever project management and trust in each other’s work are vital for success. The powerful finale demonstrates how cross-functional collaboration builds something far greater than individual parts alone. This exercise leaves teams with practical insights on managing client relationships, appreciating the interdependence of departments, and seeing how working towards a shared vision delivers lasting results.
